INSPIRATION WITH CHALKBOARD

The giant chalkboard is just one of numerous cool projects you could achieve if you have just a bit of artistic dexterity. I found some fantastic chalk design online and I just had to share them.
Funky! I like!

Words and sayings to think of while relaxing in your vintage clawfoot bathtub. I like!

Wow! How long did it take to draw all of that!? I must say I am impressed! ... That is great for a kids room although do you really want little kids to go mess with the artwork that took you 3 weeks to do? I'm not sure... It's look great though!
Here the Chalk makes the kitchen look so much more modern. But ya, again all that chalk dust over the food...

The main problem with chalkboard is the abondance of dust when you write on it and the mess when you erase. Also, they are quite useless... Take it from me, you aren't gonna use it to write anykind of list. By the time you go get your chalk to write and try to make it look kinda good you'll have time to write your list 15 times on your iphone...which by the way is waayy easier to carry. So ya! Not as practical as they look, especially when you also need a ladder to get to the top part of your chalkboard.
Though the point of the chalk board is that they look cool and fun when you use it to make easy and accessible art.

THE GIANT CHALKBOARD

Chalk paint is a new popular trend. Although if you don't want to paint the whole wall. You can buy an inexpensive giant cardboard. I chose a big 48"x48" square black cardboard at Omer Desser which cost about 10$. The chalk paint cost me 27$ and the result is great! I love it.

THE INVISIBLE BOOKSHELF

I felt like displaying some books in my room and I wanted something lighter and more stylish than a regular bookshelf so I thought of an invisible bookshelf. Very cheap and easy to do.

It is possible to buy the support for the invisible bookshelf. It cost about 30$ and it looks like the left picture below

But if you want to save a couple of bucks, you could do it yourself.
To do this, all you need are 2 L-shape brackets, some screws and an old books. It works the same way but it costs way less. You can buy a bracket like the one shown in the right picture below for 1,20$ each at any home depot or any good hardware store.

ABOUT GETTING SKINNY

My New Year resolution is the same every year... To get skinny before bikini season. I hate dieting and I'm not a fan of the machines at the gym either. This year I am trying a different approach that is all about finding a balance that works for me.

I just started yoga classes and I must say that I really enjoy it. In my opinion, Yoga is a mixture of relaxing, sexy and strengthening movements. It's great! And best of all, you don't even feel like your working out. My mom is also dragging me to these line dancing lessons because she doesn't want to go by herself. That gives me a total of 4 hours a week of weak exercise which in my opinion is still way more enjoyable than 45 minutes of an intensive session at the gym weekly.

Now about dieting... I like cooking and I am now realizing that when you actually cook your stuff you save lots of money. Indeed, instead of buying a bag of cookies for 5$ you can make them yourself (not the Pillsbury one) from scratch in 15 minutes and save lots of money. It's a great way to control your eating habits too. You'll find on the blog Strawberry Morning many "Skinny Recipes" that taste delicious and are low in calories.

So there it is... my healthy and fun "Get in shape" plan. A bit of exercises, a bit of low calories cooking and lots of fun. What will be yours?
